Hump day – we’ve got 10 (or 15) minutes on you.
Choose only one option, set your timer, turn off all distractions, and get to organizing!
Option 1: Organize your Glove Box
Jump in your car and go through that sneaky space…please note – this should not be done while you are actually driving, unless you are not the one driving. 🙂
- Take it all out…
- Decide what belongs and what doesn’t belong.
- Consider adding some extra things like a notepad and pen or that first aid kit that you put together…
- Clean if necessary.
- Make it look streamlined and ready for business by putting the things back in there that only truly belong!
Option 2: Organize your Clocks
Spring IS around the corner, whether or not you feel like it. So as we prepare to spring forward use your organizing efforts today to keep your clocks all ticking!
- Over time clocks can vary their timing and it is important to have uniformity. This helps to keep everyone on schedule (and out the door on time most of the time).
- Use a cell phone clock as your guide as you move from room to room to guarantee that each clock is correctly set.
- This is also be a perfect time to double-check batteries and alarm settings. #springforward
Option 3: Organize your Sports Stuff
Whether it is your sport or someone else in your home…I am guessing that you probably have some sports equipment lingering somewhere…and now is the time to take an honest look at what you are storing compared to what you are actually using on a regular basis!
- Purge any sports items that you are no longer using. Outgrown soccer shoes lying around? Have you decided that you are not going to continue taking your karate lessons? (Brainstorming here…)
- Be realistic if you haven’t used something in years, chances are that when you want to use it again, it will be outdated or worn out. Consider selling equipment that is still in good condition or donating to a youth organization.
- Look at your storage space(s) for your sporting equipment – is the area easy to keep maintained? (There are a lot of great options out there, so look at your space and see if you might need to make some adjustments or consider adding a new storage piece.)
- Teach your kids how you expect them to take care of their sports equipment and where the proper “homes” are for everything.
Important Reminders:
- Be realistic and do not take on more than what you will be able to finish within 10-15 minutes per day.
- The goal is to do one project to 100% completion each day.
- Feel free to mix and match from day-to-day based on what your specific needs are and what you have the motivation to work on!
