We’re back at it, and better than ever.
Choose only one option, set your timer, turn off all distractions, and get to organizing!
Option 1: Organize your Correspondence
A simple organizing focus for today – just take your 10-15 minutes and send that email, make that call, or write that “Thank You” note. Often some of the simplistic tasks get overlooked. Use your time to reconnect or cross off that one or two to do items.
Option 2: Organize your Junk Drawer
Junk drawers are sometimes a bit of a necessity, but that doesn’t mean they need to look “junky.” I love how Peter Walsh re-organized his junk drawer and made it vertical (photo above). Think outside of the box with how you re-organize and really clean out that junk drawer.
Are too many things being stored in the drawer? What can you minimize and what needs to be moved to another home. This is one of those super quick projects that can make you feel so much better!
Option 3: Organize your Command Center
Do you have a designated “command center?” If not, this will be your step #1. Determine where you will designate your CC and then set it up to work for you and your entire family. (This may well take your 10-15 minutes today.)
IF you already have a CC in place, then plan instead to clean it up a bit and make sure it is ready for spring!
- Look for where things are piling up in your command center and creatively solve these issues.
- Minimize how big your bins, baskets or totes are – the bigger they are the more stuff that will accumulate.
- Does your CC make it easy for anyone in your family to put things away – where they belong? Have you made it easy to follow and labeled as necessary?
- Do you need to have different CC’s? You don’t have to have only one area, but avoid having TOO many!
- Lastly, is it time to chat with your family about how to use the CC?
Important Reminders:
- Be realistic and do not take on more than what you will be able to finish within 10-15 minutes per day.
- The goal is to do one project to 100% completion each day.
- Feel free to mix and match from day-to-day based on what your specific needs are and what you have the motivation to work on!
