Choose only one option, set your timer, turn off all distractions, and get to organizing!
Option 1: Organize your Gift Stash
A great way to always be prepared for special occasions is to have a small inventory (or what I like to call a “back stock”) of items that you can quickly wrap for a last-minute birthday party or an impromptu dinner invite.
- Create a space to hold a small back stock of gifts for different occasions.
- Pre-order kids’ gifts from Amazon and pick a few items for different age ranges and gender.
- Pick up a few hostess gifts such as candles or chocolates, and have them ready to go.
- Make sure you’ve got gift bags and gift wrap stocked up too!
Option 2: Organize your Clocks
With new fall schedules upon us, take your time today to check that all of your clocks are running the same time.
- Over time clocks can vary their timing and it is important to have uniformity. This helps to keep everyone on schedule (and out the door on time).
- Use a cell phone time as your go-to as you move from room to room guaranteeing that each clock is correctly set.
- This is also a good time to double-check batteries and alarm settings.
Option 3: Organize your Kitchen Appliances
Let’s open up the cupboards and take what doesn’t belong out – and give it to someone who will really use it! OR make a point to use those tucked away appliances sometime this fall!
- Open the cupboard or pantry and take every small kitchen appliance out! (The mixer, steamer, waffle maker and dare we say ice cream maker?)
- Get rid of the givers and hold on to the keepers.
- Clean the space out too, wipe it down and get it looking nice and clean.
- Return your appliances – the ones that you love (and use).
Important Reminders:
- Be realistic and do not take on more than what you will be able to finish within 10-15 minutes per day.
- The goal is to do one project to 100% completion each day.
- Feel free to mix and match from day-to-day based on what your specific needs are and what you have the motivation to work on!
