Ready, set, organize!!!
Each {organizing} day you will have not one, but THREE different options to choose from. This is to provide you with a range of choices. So, depending on what interests you and/or what needs most to be addressed in your home, you will always have choices.
Choose only one option, set your timer, turn off all distractions, and get to organizing!
Option 1: Organize your Jewelry
- Pull everything out that you wear (and what you don’t wear too).
- Purge the prettiest (the ones you like and wear) from the not so pretty (the ones you NEVER wear).
- Consider donating or giving away any jewelry that you are ready to part with.
- Determine which pieces hold true sentimental value from those that do not.
- Clean or repair any pieces that need attention.
- Consider keeping some of your jewelry out in the open so that you will see it, and possibly wear it even more.
Option 2: Organize (1) Closet
Depending on the size of the closet you choose, you may not organize the entire closet. Start by focusing on just a section and then go from there.
- Choose a section that you can easily work through in 10-15 minutes.
- Evaluate each piece of clothing and be realistic about whether or not you need/want/love each piece.
- If something has been in your closet for more than a year and you haven’t worn it once, be even more discerning about whether or not you should keep it.
- Consider turning your hangers around, in the section that you organize, and then check back in six months and see which hangers are still turned around. In other words the items you are not grabbing and wearing!
- If a piece has nothing to go with it, start a list for the item(s) you need to shop for in order to help create a complete outfit.
- Any items that you are going to donate, place in a bag and immediately put the bag(s) in your car. (So you are ready for that drop off!)
- Do you have a pile that you are a bit unsure about??? Place these items in a “holding bag” in your closet, and then check back in six months to see if the item is still in there.
Option 3: Organize your Fall Schedule
Get that calendar out!
- Add anything to your calendar that you plan to do and also what you want to do – jot it all down.
- Look at your community offerings and list down the things that interest you too.
- Map out your vacations, holidays, family commitments, sporting events, and even date nights.
- Even think about what you are planning to do to celebrate the fall holidays, Halloween, Thanksgiving…
Important Reminders:
- Be realistic and do not take on more than what you will be able to finish within 10-15 minutes per day.
- The goal is to do one project to 100% completion each day.
- Feel free to mix and match from day-to-day based on what your specific needs are and what you have the motivation to work on!
