I took a little break from the home tour – but I’m baaaaaack! Today you’ll get a tour of our Beach House Entryway. I’ve addressed a little bit of our entryway before, specifically with how to organize an entryway, but today is more of a current show and tell.
This is the area in our home that probably gets the most love – insert wear and tear. So truth be told, this is rarely how it looks. Usually there are piles of bags, shoes, lunch boxes etc. We move and groove throughout this space daily!
Coming up in the near future I’m going to do a full post on how I made a command center within our entryway, despite not having any of the ideal pieces to set up a command center. When one wants to organize, one organizes, period!
This is the view from the entryway. When you come into our home, the Living Room is to the left through two french doors and my Office is to the right.
After my office the stairs split and either you take the downstairs to our basement where you’ll find the Laundry Room, Kids’ Veg Space and Garage/Storage Area. Or if you go upstairs we have our four bedrooms. So far I’ve shown you Ainsley and Berkley’s rooms and our Master Bath and the Girls’ Bath.
To the left is our Guest/Powder Bath and if you continue going straight you walk towards the Kitchen. Yes our kitchen has a door on it, something I’ve grown quite fond of. I love going into the kitchen, turning on a podcast and shutting out the chaos…all in my attempts to minimize the chaos in the kitchen!
Don’t you just love the light fixture above the chalkboard? Oh, it’s not the only one like that, we have two more identical ones in the Living/Dining Room. And, did you spot the pig/bell up high by the kitchen door? This was a gift from one of our visitors and we use it every.single.night. (It is a lifesaver, unless the ear buds are in.)
This table from Pottery Barn is probably one of my all time favorite pieces of furniture that we’ve ever bought. It has stood the test of time and is such a functional piece of furniture. I love how it gives us a spot for everyone to toss their stuff.
This basket is a close second. Most often it is overflowing with pairs of shoes and usually a few (dirty) socks are in the mix too! We, for the most part, are a shoes off house and this basket is a great reminder right when you walk in the door.
Thanks for dropping by! I love showing you around. I’m off to hang something to a wall and probably unload the dishwasher…
But before you go, I’ve got some dinner inspiration for you! The recipe of the week is pictured below and you can download the free recipe and many others over on the Recipe Page.
Hope you have a Fabulous Weekend!!!
TELL ME: Do you think it’s better to have a large entryway or a small entryway?
