Have you planned for an emergency? Are you able to locate your important paperwork or documents quickly? I know, I know, these are BIG questions.
However, I’m here to encourage you! If you want to take a step forward in getting your home essentials in order – a Grab + Go Binder is where it’s at!
What’s a Grab + Go Binder you ask? Well, whether you ever need to grab it in an emergency or not, it is a one-spot-spot where you can place any and all necessary home and family documents.
As I shared in a recent podcast (Episode #79), when we moved overseas we were encouraged to set up a binder/folder. Receiving this gentle nudge was just what I needed to help to take the time to get our things in order. And I’m hoping this post or the podcast will help you to do the same. 🙂
Creating a Grab + Go Binder
On the Community page for all MWM members there is a free printable to help you with narrowing down what should prioritize and keep in your binder (or folder, or file, or safe box…). Whatever “system” you desire to create, the biggest key is that you pull everything together in one spot (so IF you did need to GRAB + GO – you could easily!!!).
Here are some pictures of what our Grab + Go Binder looks like. I call it our binder “Home” and everyone knows this is where to look when they need something, whether a Social Security Card, Vaccine Records, or even stamps. I love using zipper pouches and business card holders to help keep things #organized. You can find all of these supplies at any office supply store.
So, what are you waiting for? Take some time this month to get your house in paperwork in order (all the papers that fall under the umbrella of home/family).
You’ll be thankful to have this in place, emergency or no emergency.
Prior planning prevents problems!
