First up is Amy from AVID Wood Creations. Amy is a superwoman when it comes to creating unique wood pieces. In fact, she can make anything you dream up. From furniture to home decor to you name it – she can create it! So, without further ado…here is more about Amy and her amazing company.
AVID Wood Creations will change the way you think about carpentry. Owner and Chief Craftsman of AVID Wood Creations, Amy Moon is bucking traditions and creating a whole new style of art that people can’t get enough of.
“I absolutely love when I visit someone’s house and they have four, five, or sometimes 10 of my pieces. This is why affordability for my clients is so important. I want everyone to have a mini AWC showroom in their home!”
As a devoted wife, loving mother, and USAF Veteran, Amy is no stranger to hard work and the importance of tenacity. As an avid outdoorsman she saw the importance of sharing her love of nature in a sustainable way.
“My passion is to create unique and functional items made of blue pine or Beetle Kill. Trees that would normally be left for years to rot on the ground or worse contribute to overwhelming forrest fires. This is my favorite wood to work with. Something that would normally be forgotten or discarded, now being transformed into stunning art…there are few things more beautiful than watching that happen.”
When Amy first started AVID (named after her children Abby and David), it was also important to become a beacon of light in her community.
When the COVID crisis hit, AWC like many businesses took a substantial loss. But instead of closing doors Amy refashioned her shop to create cloth masks for hospitals, medical clinics and the elderly at no cost. She donated over 350 masks to people who needed them most.
Later that same year, from June to Early September, Amy and her team created over 65 blue line flags to encourage and uplift local law enforcement. Since it’s conception AVID Wood Creation has donated over $6,000 in items and funds to local and national organizations.
“I just want people to know what their support of AWC means. As long as our doors are open we will be supporting our community” says Amy.
