Happy 2019! I love the number 19. We got married on the 19th, so every month on the 19th we wish each other a happy day! It’s a good number don’t you think?
I love the start of a new year. I truly do. It’s refreshing, invigorating, and encouraging to know that there is more time to do more things!
I wanted to share with you some of the goals I set (and met) for 2018 and also some things that are coming in 2019. I am so thankful that you have a desire to be inspired to live more intentionally. My heart is to serve this community by encouraging you! I believe that when you are more organized with your time and energy (and yes, your goals and dreams), you can experience great things!
Set Goals and Fulfill Dreams
Last year I set a lot of goals. I really love setting goals and planning to meet them. I have seen so much more fruit in my life by being more intentional with my goal setting. Here are some of my 2018 goals (and dreams) that I met in no particular order.
Run 10K (done), complete sprint triathalon (done), anniversary trip (done – MX so fun!), facilitate a mentorship program (done – in process), go to a concert and professional baseball game (done & done), Whole 30 (done – that was hard!), Bodypump recertification (done), more speaking (done), spring break road trip (done), finish basement (done), monthly special time with each kiddo (mostly done), and read 40 books (36).
Then there were a few that didn’t quite get the attention and focus that they deserved and therefore weren’t met. Things like – tennis lessons, playing more golf (only played once), and dog training (she gets walks but I’m lazy about the whole training piece).
So, for 2019 I visibly posted my goals like I did for 2018. Last year they were on sticky notes on my bathroom mirror and this year I made a vision board and put it up in my closet. I used sticky notes on the poster board and listed anything and everything that I hope to accomplish this year (there is a total of 54 but keep in mind I list all things big and small). Having it up where I see it everyday is a great way to stay focused and motivated.
A few of my hopes and dreams for 2019 are to run a half marathon and get my PR (we’ll see!). Develop an organizing product (SO excited about this possibility). To say yes less (things that aren’t under my umbrella of purposes). Do a women’s bible study (just signed up!). Use more boundaries with my phone usage (set and scheduled times). Start a podcast (coming in FEBRUARY!!!). And pick back up playing tennis. (It was a goal for 2018 that I basically ignored.)
If you want to set more goals and fulfill more dreams this year, I encourage you to do so by planning them out! It’s often not so much about whether or not you accomplish the “it,” but more about the process. There is always so much learning that happens along the way, regardless of the final outcome. And, if you take the time to plan where you want to go, then you are more likely to get there.
For some inspiration and guidance check out my shop. By putting pen to paper you put your plans in motion. Also, find accountability! The more you share what you want to do the more likely you will get around to doing it.
Wishing you all the best in 2019. May this be a year full of growth and change. A year where you experience much fruit. I’m cheering for you and want the very best for you.
Plan, plan, plan and then go with the flow. Set goals and fulfill your dreams, one step at a time! You’ve got this sister!
Happy Organizing!
