Recently, I’ve read some great books and I wanted to share what I’m calling my five must read summer books with you. I’ve linked to Amazon (affiliate link) if you are interested in any of them. But don’t forget to shop your library first!
Also, I’m giving away a copy of a book today so be sure to enter at the end of the post! And you can see a previous post HERE where I shared ten other great books.
(1) The Hiding Place, by Corrie Ten Boom
I had never heard of this book before and recently read it for my “casual” book club. (This just means there is no pressure to get your book read, who needs pressure?!?) This book is really good. Good in the sense that it impacted my faith and convicted me to be more content in my circumstances.
(2) Still Me, by JoJo Moyes
This was a seven-day loan from the library. I picked it up not even realizing that it was the third in the series (a series that I had previously read). Well, I read it in exactly four days! Loved it. It’s a lighter read and a fun story. If you liked the first two in the series you’ll probably like this one too!
(3) Small Great Things, by Jodi Picoult
I’m almost done with this book and it’s bringing all kinds of things to my attention (regarding racism). It definitely is helping me to look at things from a new perspective. It is a tough subject and one that I think we all need to be more aware of while also considering how we can positively impact our communities.
(4) Grace not Perfection, by Emily Ley
Over spring break I picked up this book and I couldn’t put it down. Emily is like my long-lost twin, only younger! She’s all about simplicity and intentionality. If you haven’t heard of her before be sure to check her out. Emily provides great tips on how to prioritize your true priorities.
(5) Courageous Women of the Bible, by Latan Roland Murphy
I just started reading this beautiful book and I’m planning to do it as my bible study over the summer. It has twelve chapters and focuses on 11 courageous women in the bible. Latan is a gifted writer and a courageous woman herself! You’ll love what she has to share.
If you’d like to enter to win a copy of Courageous Women of the Bible, please leave a comment below. I’d love to hear about something courageous you’ve done or something you want to do! (Winner must be US resident and will be selected 5/31/18 and contacted via emailed.)
Congrats Beth on winning a copy, I hope you enjoy it! 🙂
Happy Reading!
