Ten Spring Favorites
No. 1: Turntables
I shared more about these beauties when I highlighted my fridge reboot (or when I finally organized it) These turntables are a great way to increase the purpose of a space. I found mine at Bed, Bath, & Beyond.
No. 2: Tidy Snap
I just did a giveaway of these fabulous bands and shared all about them HERE. They are a fantastic organizing tool. I can’t say enough good things about them. (And, a big congrats to Denise, she won the giveaway!!!)
No. 3: Lotion
While I’m a raving fan of the lotion I shared in my Winter Top Ten, I also really like this lotion. My daughter gave me some for Christmas and it is a new fave. (Ainsley bought it at Target, but it looks like it is less expensive if you order it online from Target.)
No. 4: Noonday
I had heard a lot about this wonderful company, and when I was invited to a party, I was quick to RSVP – yes!!!
Noonday’s purpose is: “To make a difference in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities, we partner with Artisan Businesses that share our passion for building a flourishing world. We develop these businesses through fair trade, empowering them to grow sustainably and to create dignified jobs for people who need them.
After the party I ordered the earrings below for myself and a different style for my daughter. While I love the earrings, I love even more what the company stands for. It feels good to support something so meaningful.
No. 5: Ziploc Bags (the XL!)
Have you seen these? These bags are helping me stash all of the t-shirts my kids want to save for their future memory quilts. (I think this is a wonderful idea and wish I had done this myself with my own high school shirts. Sigh.)
I was having a hard time coming up with how to store the t-shirts, when I stumbled upon these. You can click on the picture to find them on Amazon (affiliate link). I used the 10 gallon size after trying out the 20 gallon size (whoops!). The 20 gallon size was way too big and I’ll use these to store comforters instead. These bags are a great option for organizing all kinds of things. Thanks Ziploc!
No. 6: Home + Health Management Planner
This is one of my go-tos and while not necessarily fun, it is very functional! If you don’t have a home planner/binder in place, rather it be a “catch-all or a “grab & go” notebook – I encourage you to make one! It is one of the best ways to keep everything organized and in one place. From stamps, to business cards, to monthly budgets, to school schedules, to…you name it! (I have printable PDFs available in the MWM shop but you could easily create one on your own.)
No. 7: Podcast – The Open Door Sisterhood
The Open Door Sisterhood podcast is so encouraging and inspiring! I appreciate the variety of topics and I always walk away with some great insights. The hosts, Alex and Krista, share relatable, practical and fun conversations on faith, motherhood and leadership. If you enjoy listening to podcasts, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this one too!
No. 8: This article.
My friend Deonna wrote a thought-provoking post and I’m still mulling it over. She quit social media for two weeks and shared her takeaways of that time. Wow. Wherever you fall, when it comes to phone usage or screen time, I think you’ll find her words convicting. This photo below is part of her post and I find it powerful.
No. 9: Our “new” Basement
A more personal favorite, but it definitely ranks high on my favorites for spring! We started remodeling/ finishing our basement this past October and as of March 31st, we are DONE! (Minus a little touch up paint and, of course, decorating and layering.)
It was huge project and we did a lot of the work ourselves. I’m so thankful to have it finished and we are most definitely enjoying the extra space. I’ll be sharing more about the process soon, I have a ton of pictures, I just need to get them organized!!!
No. 10: Book – Live. Save. Spend. Repeat.
This book is a favorite because it motivated me to better organize our finances and better plan for our future. I loved it! Kim really knows what she’s talking about and spring is a great time to refocus your finances – especially with tax season upon us. I love it when I read a book and it pushes me to do better with a specific area in my life.
Kim Anderson is the author of the Thrifty Little Mom blog and has been featured on Time.com, Money.com, and GoodHousekeeping.com. Kim and her husband, Cressel, paid off $93,000 in debt in two years on one income. They live in Atlanta with a son and identical-twin baby girls.
