This month’s “Clear the Clutter Challenge!” is focusing on clothes. I’m going to talk about clothes and closet organization. I find that for many of my clients (and friends), clothes can be one of the most challenging areas to stay on top of. (Also, I shared my Top Ten Spring favorites last week and there’s a great giveaway, be sure to check it out!)
As a reminder, this challenge is a great way to work on your decluttering. There is also a link up, so if you want to join the fun, link up below or join us on our Facebook group, by clicking here. Accountability can be a great motivator!
Clothes & Closet Organization
#1 Tip: The easiest way to bring your closet back into order is to, are you ready for it? Own LESS Clothes!
Previously, I’ve shared how I moved to having two (relaxed) seasonal Capsule Wardrobes and it has made all the difference! Not only with the organization of my closet but it has also made it much easier for me to get ready and dressed each day. I also created an eBook that helps you to create a Capsule Wardrobe in only three days! It is a great resource if you are looking to transform your closet. If you are wanting to scale back and simplify your closet, it starts with the decluttering of your clothes!
Now, here’s some pretty inspiration. I love seeing how others are creative with how they organize their clothes and closets.
First up, Jen from I Heart Organizing shared how she took on a DIY project and designed a coat closet to work overtime for her family of five. Love that she painted the closet and added gold labels.
Next, Cassie from Hi Sugarplum (a devoted fashionista and a fashion blogger), revealed her closet redo. She converted her closet to an Elfa system from The Container Store to help organize and display her beautiful clothes. While not necessarily a “less is more” closet, she did a great job with not only making the space pretty but also functional. If you are more in the fashionista camp, look for ways to make your closet a pretty display or even a piece of art. And…that carpet…
Then see what Carmel from Our Fifth House did with her DIY skills. A gorgeous jewelry feature and a ladder for heels! (Why didn’t I think of that?) She also has some great ideas for how to work with wire shelving and how to create storage solutions for all kinds of things.
