There are two things I seem to always be doing: cooking and cleaning. I’m not complaining. Not at all. But, it can often feel a little bit, shall we say – overwhelming, monotonous, and tedious. Are you nodding your head with me? Well, I have some good news! There are three specific and simple ways to better keep up with the cooking and cleaning. Now, you are interested! (Oh, and there’s a giveaway today too!)
#1 – Proper scheduling.
To stay on top of your cleaning and cooking priorities, commit to scheduling them. Carve out the necessary time for the priorities that they are. For example, menu plan weekly and then shop for the necessary ingredients. Or work to follow a loose schedule when it comes to your cleaning routine. Finding a rhythm and schedule that works for you, and your entire family, will make your cooking and cleaning duties more of a habit. (And, remember, many hands make light work!)
#2 – Pretty supplies.
One thing I’m REALLY good at, is purchasing cleaning supplies. I’m very motivated when I’m strolling through the cleaning aisle at the store and then not so motivated when the time comes to tackle the cleaning of my overly messy bathroom. Relatable?
It’s as if a shiny new mop makes me think that I’ll actually enjoy mopping my floors.
However, I have found that purchasing some pretty products, specifically ones that smell great and work well, does help. Like Mrs. Meyer’s products, I love them! When you find products you like, they can motivate you (no, mop I’m not talking to you) and actually help you to look forward to cleaning – a wee bit.
I shop for Mrs. Meyer’s products via Grove Collaborative. If you are interested in trying Grove – now is a GREAT time to do so! You can join today and you’ll receive a FREE set of Mrs. Meyer’s hand soap + dish soap + hand lotion + Grove Collaborative sink tray, with a purchase of $20. I highly recommend Grove and love partnering with them. And having pretty supplies definitely helps me keep up. With my cleaning that is!
#3 – Practical Suppers.
Make it a goal to keep your dinners simple. During the week I rarely cook anything fancy. For me, the simpler the better. Well balanced and good food is my aim.
