Only two weeks are left in the One Room Challenge! Time flies when you are having fun with decorating….or something like that.
Pocket Office – One Room Challenge
Here’s the lowdown. My goal is to create an office for me and a mudroom/command center for everyone. I want this room to have some style and decor, but also provide lots of practicality for the entire family. From storage solutions to an inviting work space – this office needs to be ready to work full-time!
The checklist from week two is coming along nicely. This week I’ve been focusing specifically on organizing, painting, and sewing.
Pocket Office – Pencils, Paint, & Privacy
First up, I’ll give you a sneak peek of my organized desk drawer. Love! Target for the win, again.
Secondly, I found the paint color I want to use, yay! But you’ll have to wait to see exactly how I use it in the space. 🙂 How’s that for some suspense???
I am a big fan of Sherwin Williams paints, especially because they provide pallets that help to coordinate your paint choices throughout your entire home. I’ve chosen to go with their “Traditional Twist” color palette. The main reason I chose this particular color palette was because it coordinated well with the design choices that were already used in our home. And as we decide to update with additional paint around the house, we can use this as our go-to for paint choices. So easy.
Also, look at their room inspiration shown with the Traditional Twist colors. Beautiful!
Thirdly, I used some fabric I had and made a cafe curtain to hang in the window above the desk. We wanted to add a little privacy and also some color and pattern to the Pocket Office. The curtain did just that. Win-win!
OK, I’m off to get back to work. If you have time be sure to check out all of the fabulous decoration and inspiration via the ORC. I’ll see you back here next week with (hopefully) even more progress!
Happy Organizing & Decorating!
