Like I mentioned last week, I’ve decided to join the One Room Challenge Party. This is just the motivation I need in order to get one room in our home entirely organized and decorated. Moving is hard y’all!
Pocket Office – One Room Challenge
The goal is to create an office for me and a mudroom/command center for everyone. I want this room to have some style and decor, but also provide lots of practicality for the entire family. From storage solutions to an inviting work space – this office needs to be ready to work full-time!
I’ve been fine tuning the details, twist my arm, by shopping and working through the checklist from last week.
Here are some of my plans, so far. (Thanks to Target and Home Goods!)
Pocket Office – Command Center Plan
To address the long wall above, I’m going to make two boards with clips to hold pertinent paperwork. Everyone in the family will be assigned a clip for their personal info. This will be a great place to keep current information visible. Things like sport schedules and school menus.
Then two of these chalkboards will also join the command center. One designated to our family weekly schedule and one to list items needed from the store.
Finally, two of these wall hooks will be hung to hold coats and bags. And I also found two trays that can be mounted on the wall and be utilized for in and out mail and paperwork.
I can’t wait to see it all come together. Thank you so much for your feedback last week about painting the walls and whether or not to do stripes. I’ve made up my mind and I’ll be sharing more with you next week!
Don’t forget to hop over and check out all of the fabulous decoration and inspiration via the ORC.
If you’ve got any recommendations for chalk pens I’d love to hear. I’ve yet to find a brand I love.
Happy Organizing & Decorating!
