I promise I’m not wishing 2015 away, not at all! But I am super excited to share with you my goal progress for 2015. (And yes, I am still counting on the last 24 days of this month to check off a few more!)
At the beginning of the year I shared with you my original 2015 goals and then I gave you a mid year review too. So to be fair, and to wrap things up, today you are getting my 2015 goals end of year review!
Below I’ve listed my goals for 2015, under the six dimensions of wellness, and then in blue font next to the goal, my progress and/or lack of progress. This list is now updated and expanded from the mid year review. Here we go!
Emotional – reactions, feelings, cognition
Avoid being an “avoider”, in all of my relationships(This will continue to be an area that I work on, however, I am really striving to be less of a people pleaser and I’m also using more boundaries in my life! I’d say that overall I’ve taken some great strides in this area, although this will continue to be a work in progress. #preferpeoplepleasing)Daily 3 Check-In Questions with my hubby(We are still doing this about weekly or so and I want to keep this as an ongoing goal for us.)
Social – relationships, community, healthy independence
Marriage Small Group Studies (How We Love/Love You Forever/El&Ella)(We read and discussed Love You Forever and we also lead a small group this fall that covered the book Changes that Heal – so overall check!)Two Date Nights/Week, 1 – fun & 1 – functional (relational/planning/business)(We do a good job with getting our date nights in! Thankfully because we now have teens. #dinnerfortwo)- Organize our family home videos, and start taking more videos, my baby is almost nine – insert ugly cry (Not quite…thinking that I can do this over Winter Break….we’re staying put so I’m going to schedule a day to sit on the couch and update all the videos, with some kleenex.)
One “special time date” with each of my ABC’s, each month(Not perfectly, but I tend to get one-on-one time with each of them around once a month.)Lead a Small Group at Church(Yes! The Best Yes – NEED to reread this awesome book.)
Intellectual – creativity, critical thinking, learning
Read 30 books(Are you sitting down? I’m at 39 books – and I moved my book goal to 45! What has happened to me?)Learn to knit(Yes, one scarf is done, see picture below, please don’t look toooo close…)- Learn 3 piano songs (Whoops…not yet – WHO put this one on here?!?) #2016
- Stain our bed (Totally changed my mind on this one. When I asked for color feedback on Facebook you all were so helpful! However, I’m feeling that I need to wait until we get to our next home to really choose the color and to decide on the design/look of our next Master Bedroom. All staining/re-finishing is going to wait until we’re back in the USA.)
Spiritual – faith, belief, values
- Read the Action Bible (25%…hoping I can get it read over Winter Break)
Finish the NT (2/28)& Read the OT (5/31) – (Finished the NT. And you know what? I’m not sure that reading through the Bible really works for me. I honestly have such a hard time focusing. I’m going to scratch the OT for now. I’m going to work through Bible Studies in 2016 instead. I tend to get much more out of this type of reading/studying.)- Write our World Vision Child – William 3x this year (Only 1x – next year I want to really do this one.)
Praying during my QT, and still get up early for QT (M-F)(Doing pretty good on getting up early and also praying on my morning (or afternoon) walks with Olivia.)
Physical – body, nutrition, healthy habits
Play tennis 2x / week- Golf 1x / quarter with my hubby (We have focused instead on Tennis and guess what – he beats me! #notfair)
Run 1/2 Marathon (10/18)– get my PB time! (I did this but didn’t get my PB – but it was a great memory!)- Once a week:
Yoga-Wednesdays, Swim-Thursdays, Lift-Fridays (Only really consistent with tennis/yoga/walking…re-visit in 16.)
Occupational – skills, finances employment
Attend Zumba Training – 2/5-6(Cancelled, because it wasn’t a good fit.)Write eBbook – 4/15(eBook – done and for sale in my shop – see below!)Implement/Follow a quarterly marketing plan for MWM(Yes – I even now have some help – I’m super excited for MWM’s future, here we come 2016!!!)- Organize:
my clothes, kitchen spices, photos, scrapbooks, christmas cards(I moved to more of a capsule wardrobe, overhauled my spices, streamlined my christmas cards, and also spent Thanksgiving weekend completely organizing my digital photos I’m all caught up through 2014. Feeling good!)
Bucket List Goal – that one krazy – over the top – out there sort of goal…
As a reminder…I signed up for the Zumba training, but then I learned that the certification would only be valid for one year. So I decided to cancel the training and wait for a later date when it makes more sense. However, I DID check off one bucket list goal. I had the privilege of speaking at our Women’s Retreat in May. It was a blessing and something that pushed me out of my comfort zone.

To bring you up to speed…I created a Goal Challenge for 2015 and there were over 50 participants who joined with me and committed to setting goals! It’s been so encouraging to read all of the emails and comments from my fellow goal setters. Each one of you who joined with me kept me on track too! So now we need to look forward together!
2016 is just around the corner and here’s a sneak peak of what’s coming in 2016. I’m really excited to announce the Yearly Goal Challenge 2016 will be open for sign ups next Monday, 12/14.
Let’s do this together, it’s the best way to do life, together! (If you are not a subscriber to MWM you should subscribe today – there will be a discount for all subscribers, as my little thank you.)
Tell Me: What is the one goal that you met in 2015, that you are the MOST proud of? Or what is one goal that you want to meet in 2016?
