The Seasonal Organizing Challenges are subscription based challenges that cover 10 days of mini-organizing challenges, specifically in preparation for the upcoming season. Just imagine it…I’ll pop by every morning (like a fun Personal Organizer would) and provide you with direction and inspiration (via your email inbox) and then you get to choose what you want to do and get to work!
If you struggle with getting organized, this is a simple yet effective challenge that will really help you to see how much you can actually organize in short bursts of time. My philosophy is that Less IS More. And I truly believe that you don’t have to spend hours organizing. Just by taking 10-15 minutes per day you can make some serious progress! I’m your organizing cheerleader, only I don’t use pom poms, but maybe I should!
Winter Organizing Challenge
The Winter OC is a subscription based challenge that will cover 10 days of mini-organizing challenges, specifically in preparation for the upcoming season. Just imagine it…I’ll pop by every morning (like a fun Personal Organizer would) and provide you with direction and inspiration (via your email inbox) and then you get to choose what you want to do and get to work! Each daily OC will offer three project options to give you the opportunity to pick the best choice for you for that particular day. (These are varied and differ from season to season.) The organizing focuses for each day are specific to the season but also include many small areas of your home that are often overlooked.
Daily OC Sample
Go ahead and choose only one option, set your timer, turn off all distractions, and get to organizing!
Option 1: Mail Organization
How is your paper mail (organizational) system? Is it working for you and your family? Evaluate if you need to make some adjustments or add a designated in / outbox. Going a step forward, what mail can you minimize by cancelling subscriptions or opting for paperless?
If your paper mail is under control…then what about taking your 10-15 minutes to better organize your emails? Creating files and a “to do” file folder can make a world of difference as you receive new communication daily. A great service Unroll.Me will help you to eliminate the subscriptions that you no longer want to receive.
Option 2: Holiday Cards
Yes! You can get a jump-start on your holiday cards!
- Use this weekend to get your family picture taken or get online and get the cards ordered.
- Take some time to update your contacts
- Go over the list of the family and friends that you want to send cards to.
- Purchase your stamps either via the Post Office or online.
- Make a cup of hot chocolate while you work!
Option 3: Pantry Purge
Now is a great time to check out your pantry and to do a little purging!!!
- Go basket by basket, shelf by shelf or drawer by drawer (keeping your time to 15 minutes).
- Toss any food that is outdated.
- Make a menu plan based on any foods that need to be used in the next month or two.
- Make a list for any items that need to be replenished.
- Clean as you go.
- Re-organize things as necessary.
- Step back and smile. 🙂
Important Reminders:
- Be realistic and do not take on more than what you will be able to finish within 10-15 minutes per day.
- The goal is to do one project to 100% completion each day.
- Feel free to mix and match from day-to-day based on what your specific needs are and what you have the motivation to work on!
Participant’s Praise
“The OC gives small projects that are often overlooked but can create chaos if left unchecked.” ~ Anonymous
“I joined the challenge because I needed to know how to organize in short periods of time. I have a 6 month old daughter and time is limited. I never knew I could get so much done in just 15 minutes! I plan to keep using these tips and ideas to keep my house clean!” ~Michelle
“It motivated me by knowing that others were doing the same thing!” ~ Anonymous
