What No One Tells You About Blogging
I’ve shared a little bit from time to time about why I started MWM (it was on a whim) and how it has helped me during a more difficult season in my life (insert – given me something to do) and how I’ve enjoyed seeing it blossom in its own (small) way. Blogging has been a perfect opportunity for me. But what I didn’t know about blogging, is that it is similar to baking.
It goes like this…you bake a cake but let’s pretend that you don’t really get to know if anyone ever enjoys a slice of your cake. You think, yes, a few people probably did. But you are left wondering if your time of finding the recipe, shopping for the ingredients, mixing the batter, and then cleaning up, really were appreciated and/or even necessary?
I mean you are happy with the cake and you liked the slice that you ate, but you are not sure if that’s where your baking skills end. What does keep you going, is that you want to share your love with others. And the realization you continue to be reminded of, is that if only one person enjoys your slice of yummy cake, then your time has been well spent.
As I continue to bake (or blog), I want to know what you want from me. I want to know where to best focus my energies and efforts. After all, I do like to keep things simple sisters! When you share with me, I know better how to encourage you. I like to know if you prefer chocolate or vanilla cake!
