I just returned from a whirlwind trip to NYC. It was four days full of fun, fun, fun! My daughter and I met up with my friend Sarah and her daughter for a “Girls Weekend.” We took in so much over the four days that I’m still trying to remember all that we did. I’ll share a recap soon, because there’s lots to share about!
Today I’m going to do a little…
What’s Up Wednesday – Books
I love sharing some current highlights with you and this is a fun way to do so.
What we’re eating this week…
I haven’t cooked in a week! I know! But I’m getting back to it, now that my jet lag has subsided. One of my new favorites is this Chipotle Chicken Salad, it’s really good!
What I’m reminiscing about…
We just celebrated our 19 year wedding anniversary, so I was reminiscing all about that special day, 19 years ago!
What I’m loving…
I just love my new purse. It’s the perfect size and I’ve found that the phone pouch on the front is a life saver. No more searching for my phone!
What we’ve been up to…
A whirlwind trip to NYC!!!
What I’m dreading…
Nothing that I can think of…I guess that’s a good thing?
What I’m working on…
Putting my house back together after my vacation and prepping for the Thanksgiving 21-Day Fitness Challenge! (Sign ups are open through Friday, so be sure to save your spot today! There are only a few spots left.)
What I’m excited about…
Another road trip to Spain next month. (This equals lots of reading time, which I love!)
What I’m watching/reading…
I watched three movies on one of my plane rides: Spy, Aloha, and Five Flights Up. I really enjoyed all three of them. I also just finished reading “Start Something That Matters” (Toms creator – SO good) and “Pre-Teen Wise.” And I’m in the middle of “To Kill a Mockingbird.” (My reading goals are on fire, I’m three books ahead of schedule. Feel free to follow me on Goodreads HERE.)
After my recent marriage post, some of you have written asking me which marriage books I recommend. So I came up with a list of some of my favorite marriage books, each one of these offer great tips, encouragement, and guidance on how to be married well.
- The Love List – Les & Leslie Parrott
- How We Love – by Milan Yerkovich and Kay Yerkovich
- For Women Only / For Men Only – Shaunti Feldhahn
- The Five Love Languages – Gary Chapman
- The Power of a Praying Wife / Husband – Stormie Omartian
- Boundaries in Marriage – Cloud & Townsend
What I’m listening to…
Still “Focus on the Family” podcasts! There was a recent one on marriage, hilarious.
What I’m wearing…
Well, in Portugal it’s still pretty warm, but while in NY I got to wear my boots and scarves!
What I’m doing this weekend…
Celebrating Halloween, and just having “family time.” I really missed my clan (and Olivia) while being away from them.
What I’m looking forward to next month…
Thanksgiving, I’m going to try some new recipes, yum!
What else is new…
We’re into a pretty smooth fall season and I’m just working to manage my time the best that I can each day. I desire to truly savor the precious moments that life gives.
Thanks for playing catch up with me today! See you back here for the November Monthly Challenge!
Linking up today with these lovely ladies.
