I’m soaking up these last two weeks of summer, because I know that in a few months I’ll remember these lazy days with fondness. There’s just something extra special about summer!
As we have to look ahead, boohoo, and focus once again on getting the kids back on a schedule, it’s the perfect time to re-evaluate how to organize for back to school. Rather your kids have already started school again, of if you still have a few more days or weeks, these basics will help you to get things up and running again, with efficiency!
My “Back to School” series covers everything from organizing School Clothes , to creating a Locker Location, to setting up a Paper Plan, and lastly, and maybe most importantly, establishing a system for Dinner Duty.
A few things I want to add to our routine this fall is a Sunday “meal prep” focus, where we pre-cut and pre-make things, so lunch assembly every week day is more organized. (My kids make their own lunches but we could do a better job of preparing things ahead of time.) And secondly, a better system for keeping bedrooms more tidy during the busy school weeks. We’ve done a little better with making our beds over the summer. Little being the key word.
I hope you have had a very memorable summer, and that you are able to tuck away many more precious memories. Remember life is more about moments and memories, than it is about “things.” Be present, live with intention, and keep it simple.
