Our Italy vacation was simply wonderful.
There were two main reasons that we jetted on over to Italy earlier this month. (Not that we would ever need much of a reason…)
First was to see this sweet boy, our nephew Holden. Who just happened to turn four while we were there!!! #stoptheclock
Holden is just the cutest and his vocabulary is fantastic. I tried to sneak him home with us, after all he knows that Auntie M always has a supply of M&Ms. 🙂
Our second reason was to meet this adorable little girl, also known as Emma, our 8-month old niece. She is completely delightful. I had to keep fighting with my kids for a “turn” with her. I love that my kids love babies as much as I do!
We spent our first day at our Quinta relaxing, swimming, and playing. We had this pool to ourselves. It was a little slice of paradise. And this below was where we had the privilege of staying!!! Thanks Harmony for coordinating, you did good, really good.
We set off on the second day to tour Florence. (Note to self, don’t wear short shorts in Florence, especially if you want to go inside this church.) I knew better, but due to the heat I was stubborn. Stubborn usually doesn’t work out too well.
The Tyree Party of Five posing for the necessary family photo!
Then the next day we ventured to Cinque Terra. Oh my. What a place. Swimming, boating, hiking, eating…it was fabulous.
More evidence of the “baby hogging.” #caniholdemma
Then we took off a day to rest, recoup, and celebrate Holden’s 4th Birthday!
Harmony and I dressed for dinner.
Our view at dinner, I mean seriously.
The next day it was time for the Tyrees to head to Venice. We packed up and drove, took a train, rode a water taxi, walked, rode in a gondola, and then walked some more.
I don’t have favorites, but Venice might be my favorite. What a special and unique place.
Love this girl, and let’s not talk about the fact that we’re like the same height!?!
After a 2:30 AM return time from Venice (due to some train delays) we were tuckered out just a bit. So we spent our last full day pretty much doing lots of this.
It was a very special week, I’m very thankful for family, cousins, and special memories. We could have been sitting around a campground just as easily. After all, it’s the time together that means the most.
Our family is now on our last year of living overseas, if you have personal recommendations about what we should see in Europe please pass on. The clock is now ticking! I’d love any input or suggestions, we want to make the most of our time here.
I’m thrilled with the feedback I’ve received so far surrounding my first eBook! These truly are life-changing tips that can make a big difference in your life. Grab your copy today and plan to get MORE organized!
Ciao! xoxo
