Here is my sweet boy’s room. He didn’t want me to share too many pictures with you, but here are a few highlights. Any 12-year-old who has a “Master Suite” all to himself is pretty fortunate, if you ask me!
Because Connor has a big bedroom and bath he had plenty of room for a queen size bed. We often have him move out when guests visit and give them his room. This way they have their own room, balcony, and a full bath – even with two sinks!
With the stark white walls I tried to break it up with some sports decals and his colors are basically, blue and brown.
He has two full closets, like we do in our room, and the middle door in this row is actually the door to the bath. I know, sort of weird but sort of smart too!
Of course I gave him blue hangers – to match his room! 🙂 He has one of the two closets dedicated to all of his clothing. We found that hanging up t-shirts was easier than trying to keep them folded and stacked neatly. Connor does all of his own laundry and has quite the system, not sure where he got that from…
As you can see he is almost as tall as me…I just updated and he is @ 5’1″! It won’t be long until I’m looking up to talk to him, I’m 5’4 1/2″ – but who’s counting?
Then, with regard to toys, as he gets older there are less toys and more “devices.” But we still need simple ways to organize and store everything. He has four of these boxes that hold, from the bottom to the top, Transformer Toys, Legos, Memory Box, and Blocks.
Additionally on his side night stands he has two baskets that are used for collecting other categories of things like action figures and magazines.
This is his desk, we re-purposed this from our homeschooling days. It works for him to spread out when he wants to work in his room, which is not very often. Normally he likes to work around the Dining Room table, with music blasting. But if, and when he wants to retreat, and do his homework, this gives him a nice spot.
Please note he has his own balcony as well. In his defense he had a very small room in our old house, so it only makes sense that he is being a little spoiled right now. #enjoyitwhileitlasts
Last up, is his bulletin board. This is his spot to keep all of his fun notes, pictures, etc. The “Daily 5” is still in place, while not always done, the reminder is always there. He gets an A for effort!!!
In only five more days, I’ll be releasing my first Ebook, this has been a project in the works for a while. It is short and sweet, but packed full of simple life-changing tips. Release date is this coming Tuesday, July 21st!
