Guess what? It’s true.
You can be more organized in only 15 minutes per day!
Yep. 15 Minutes to More Organized.
I’m living proof.
While I certainly have some drawers with things shoved in them and I have closets that are fighting to stay neat, I know that when I stay in a regular “organizing” mode that I am able to keep things organized. And this is exactly where my idea of my Organizing Challenges was born.
I realized that staying organized isn’t a once in a while sort of thing, it’s a discipline that really takes a daily effort. And the good news? It doesn’t have to be that much daily time.
The important principle is that the daily effort is intentional. That you carve out the time to focus on one small organizing project at a time. Forget the idea of cleaning up an entire room, floor, or garage. Think sections, cupboards, drawers.
When you complete one small area at a time you start to move organizing mountains.
I’ve created five simple daily habits that I use in my own life…
- I carry something up or down the stairs with me while I’m bustling around the house.
- I grab things from the car every time that I return home.
- I work to only touch-paper one time.
- I try to put things away as quickly as possible.
- I do a regular sweep around the house and put things back to where they belong.
During my recent Summer OC, that wraps up tomorrow, I’ve been working hard personally on each of my daily OC options. And I love seeing the progress in the different spaces of my home. I’ve been re-reminded of what 10-15 minutes per day can do to the overall organization in my home and life.
So…your challenge today, is to set your timer for 10-15 minutes and to organize just one space! Go for it! You’ll be glad you did.
And, if you are curious what the OC’s look like, all new MWM subscribers receive the Spring OC for free!
Yep, a 10 day plan to get you MORE organized.
KISS – Organize in 10-15 “intentional” minutes per day.
