We’ve had a lovely, relaxing and fun-filled two-week Spring Break. Europeans really know how to truly slow down. And we’re happily embracing this part of their culture. 🙂
And you’ll love seeing where my hubby and I had a date over Spring Break. Look at this place…
Such a fun restaurant and you want to know the really cool part? We were sitting in the restaurant and another family was in there – who we thought might be American. After talking to them, we learned they were from our same home state of Oregon. What are the chances?
Over the break we also celebrated our sweet boy turning 12! Connor is growing into such a mature young boy. I often struggle with raising a son, having all sisters in my home growing up, but I love how God equips me and guides me. Knowing this boy has made my life so much richer. I am blessed to be his momma.
Now…its been awhile since I’ve done some Friday Fab Faves, so today I’m jumping back in with some great reads. As part of my personal goals I’m aiming to read 30 books this year, and not to brag or anything, but I’m ahead of schedule!!! (Having a two-week break can really help you to get caught up with relaxing things, things like reading and napping.)
So if you’re looking for a book to pick up here are some of my recent faves…
When it comes to my faith and my personal growth, I’m always wanting to learn more! These two books were both really powerful and convicting reads. Karen Ehman gives lots of tips and techniques on how to watch what you say and when to lean into the Lord first. I took a lot away from this book. And same goes for Lysa TerKeurst’s book, “The Best Yes”. I just love how she simplified the complicated reality of decision-making. It’s not the first time I’ve shared about Lysa’s book.
When it comes to my personal passions and finding my purpose I loved these following books. They covered everything from finding your calling to managing your time to running an efficient home.
Jeff Goins book just came out and I loved it. If you have ever wondered about your “calling” this book provides some great insight. Amy Lynn Andrews book is a short time management book that covers time management in a fresh way. I took a lot of little nuggets away. Lasty, I’ll cover “Sidetracked Home Executives” at a later date. This is the book that my mom referred to in her post – it is a great resource – especially when it comes to organizing a home. If you feel like you’ve yet to find the right system for running your home, this book may be your solution!
And for fun…these following books were both Book Club reads. I enjoyed them both. “A Spool of Blue Thread” is a slice of life sort of story, all about the different generations within a family. And “The Girl on the Train” is a story set in London that deals with a crime…I’ll leave it at that. It was a book that I couldn’t put down. I even got up one morning and read three hours just to finish it. If you liked Gone Girl’s story line, you’ll find this one interesting too!
OK…so I’ve got you covered with some books that you can add to your reading list and now to give you some inspiration for your cooking, here is the latest Easy Dinner Recipe! It reminds me of Morocco – in the best way possible!
See the full recipe and many others over HERE, all of the healthy (and easy) recipes come with individual printables. Don’t forget to kiss the cook!!!
And tell me…what book would you recommend, I need some new recommendations…
Have a fabulous weekend!
xoxo
