I realized recently that its been a looooong time since I’ve done a “day in my life” type of post. In fact I’ve only done one post like this in the past, so I’m well over due to share with you about what my day-to-day really looks like.
But like you, every day can tend to look a little bit different. Basically there is no real “typical” day in the Tyree house, but the day I am sharing with you has a lot of typical parts to it, and a few not so typical.
Today’s post was all about this past Wednesday, October 1st.
Here we go…
I wake up around 5 ish – drag myself downstairs and make a chai tea. Then after separating the two fighting cats – our cats, I spend some time in quiet time, which is my time to get focused for the day.
At 5:30 I do a few work items and then I get ready to take Ainsley to swim practice at 6:10. (We get our one on one time together about four mornings a week during our drive to swim practice, a time that I covet and hold onto tightly.)
After the 30 minute drive to and from the pool, I get back around 6:45 and then it’s time for me to step into the kitchen for what I like to call – the morning kitchen sweep.
This is what things look like before I get to work…
Every morning I unload the dishwasher first thing and then start loading it back up. I also bounce around and tidy up the other rooms on our main floor – the living room, dining room and my office. I do this while everyone else is getting up and getting ready for their day.
At 7:30 everyone joins me in the kitchen for breakfast. We follow our breakfast morning menu for the most part and my kids (for the most part) self-serve. I personally have a bowl of cereal and make a juice.
I also get a little organized and pull out some ingredients for cookies that I plan to make later in the day. And I discuss dinner plans with my hubby as tonight will not be a typical night.
David does the daily walk to the bus stop every morning at around 8:00. Here he is heading out with Berkley and Connor, we’re still in summer weather around here, hence the summer outfits.
With everyone gone I turn my attention to getting ready for my 9:00 Yoga class that I teach two mornings a week out of my home. I use the time before class to tidy up, return a few emails and toss a small load of wash into the washer.
After yoga I get myself ready for the day, shower etc. (You’ll be happy to note that I’m working on making my bed everyday, I’m at about 75% so far this school year.)
Then I make myself a quick smoothie with milk, pineapple and ice cubes. May not sound so great, but I’m into all things pineapple and coconut these days!
At this point in the day, I’m ready to head out and do some work outside of the house.
I am currently working on updating my fitness CEC’s and have the rest of this month to finish up my online classes. So, I spend two hours at the coffee shop working on this and a little MWM too.
Back home for a lunch of leftovers at around 1:30. This was our dinner from our Mexican Monday, a version of my Black Bean Enchiladas. And my homemade salsa via Pioneer Woman – LOVE!
At 2:00 I jump into my office for a client call and then use the rest of my time to work on MWM.
At 4:00 I get to work on baking the cookies. I made white chocolate chip with coconut, they were yummy! (Just the recipe on the back of the chip bag.)
My sweet girl Ainsley returns from school via the bus by herself at 4:10….Connor and Berkley have an after school activity on Wednesdays.
Then I shift gears and get dressed up. (This is not a very typical part of my day.)
But before I could head out with David for a work event, I drive to the school to pick up Connor and Berkley at 5:00. They both are in a Garden Club on Wednesdays at school, how cool is that?
David meanwhile returns home and preps dinner for the kids. (He and I were going to eat at the event.)
We pose for a few pictures and head out for the evening at around 5:30. (I shared a more natural photo of us on instagram.)
It was warm, still in the low 80’s. Not feeling very much like October 1st to us!
We return home around 9:00, tired and ready for bed.
Then we tuck in the kids, clean up a bit in the kitchen, make some tea and watch a little TV.
And like that, the day is done!
It was good day.
Hope you have a FABULOUS weekend!!!
