I keep talking about the fun of summer. The chance to slow down and to really relax. The time for more family togetherness and to make those long-lasting memories. While all of these are very much true for me, I have to admit, if I’m being open and honest, that there are also a few real downsides to summer.
Sometimes the lack of structure and routine can drive me crazy. Many days I feel like I am spinning and I just don’t know where to start first. My kids are getting older and now they drag themselves out of bed later and later. It can often feel like the day won’t really ever start. There are times throughout the day that I can begin to feel a little, well, unglued.
I like that word, it just sums things up perfectly. This cool word ties into a great book. A book that I just read…
Unglued helps to encourage you to know that you are not alone in the “hard” days and in the reality of feeling overwhelmed at times. A perfect read for the summer. Lisa gives you encouragement on how to best prepare and react to the daily ups and downs, in an emotionally mature way. After all, we have a huge responsibility to model to our children how to handle our emotions.
As a little celebration, I am going to be doing some fun giveaways throughout this month. This month marks my two-year anniversary of blogging!!! I stumbled into this blog world and I’ve loved every minute of it! It’s an honor to connect with others and to share what God lays on my heart. Today’s giveaway is a copy of Lisa’s book, either hard copy or kindle version. (Be sure to enter the giveaway at the bottom if you would like to work to be a little more glued together this summer!)
Hoping you and your family have a very Happy 4th of July!
