I’m in the mode of getting my house back into shape! Last week we wrapped up the school year. So now I’m knee-deep into piles of papers and mounds of artwork. I’m really thankful that I have my memory boxes all set up for my ABC’s. These boxes give me a great spot to put everything in its place!
Speaking of kids and organization it’s time to share another Family Organization tip! This is a tip that can be a huge lifesaver. OR at least keep you from making unnecessary trips to the grocery store! Can I get an Amen?

When I shared with you our Kitchen Tour, I highlighted a small system that helps to keep our groceries stocked from week to week.
The system is what I call “THE List”. I took a small chalkboard and designated it as the spot to write down any food items that need to be purchased. This way whoever uses the last of something (honey, are your reading this?) or if somebody wants something in particular, this gives them an easy spot to jot it down.
I then refer to this list when I sit down to write my weekly menu plan and grocery list. It’s a great way to stay on top of all of the basic foods we use on a regular basis.
I keep the chalk in the drawer right below, so we can keep the list up to date at all times! This “keep it simple system” just makes it easy peezy to keep the grocery shopping on track from week to week.
Are you a list writer? Do you have this simple system set up in your kitchen?
KISS – Provide an easy spot for all family members to list items that need to be replenished in the kitchen!
