Happy Friday Friends!
Today is the last day of the Summer Organizing Challenge. I’m so proud of all of you who participated with me and for the hard work that you put in! It is awesome how motivation and accountability can really help us to get more done! My hubby even joined the challenge and being the bolt that he is, he made some serious progress.
Stay tuned for more Organizing Challenges – we have a 30 day group challenge starting June 1st!
Yesterday, I shared my fifth Healthy Habit, which was all about Reading. So today I’m sharing some of my new favorite books that I’ve just read.
Parenting Teens with Love and Logic
This is a great book for that next season of parenting. I am always reading a parenting book of some kind. I have to keep my parenting skills up to par! 🙂 The book shares how to teach your kids responsibility, similar to what I shared in my post about “The Monkey”.
Parenting Teens with Love and Logic: Preparing Adolescents for Responsible Adulthood
(If your kids are younger you should check out their original book, Parenting With Love And Logic – Updated and Expanded Edition. Also a great resource.)
Same Kind Of Different As Me
I had been intending to read this book for well over a year. I finally cracked it open on our spring break trip. Oh my, it is a good read. It is a beautiful story that really helps give you perspective about how life choices can really impact other people’s lives. I was touched and moved many times while reading this story.
Forgotten God
Another book that had been waiting for me on my shelf. 🙂 Not a light read but a very good topic. Frances Chan who also wrote Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God (a very convicting book – one that I also highly recommend), shares how to understand the power of the Holy Spirit. I took A LOT away from this book, it was very impacting.
Forgotten God: Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit
Redeeming Love
This book was a birthday gift to me from a dear friend. It is such a powerful story about love, grace, faith, romance, and forgiveness. A book that was really hard for me to put down.
Me Before You
This was a Book Club read. I read it in two days, it was that entertaining! A beautiful (and sad) story that really helped me to look at some things in a new way. I finished the book with a torn perspective and a new-found empathy. It moved me to think about how we love and how we look at life.
Just a few recommendations, they are all very different and offer different things. I have learned (the hard way) to double-check a lot of reviews before investing in a book. So don’t just take my word. 🙂 We all like different things!
Tell Me – Do you have any books to recommend to me for my summer reading list?
Hoping you have a FABULOUS Friday!
