*KISS – High Quality Denim = High Quantity of Wear & Tear!
I L.O.V.E. jeans! They are my go to staple (besides sweats or yoga pants, of course). Years ago I didn’t think twice about buying an inexpensive pair of jeans. To be fair I am very cheap price conscious and my jean shopping fell into the same spending limitations as did the rest of my wardrobe shopping.
Things began to change seven years ago when I bought a low-end pair of jeans and the dye affected my skin. I had a slight blue tint on my legs after wearing them. Who wants to deal with that? Not to mention that I didn’t like the way the denim felt to the touch and they weren’t very comfortable.
I was stuck until my sister shared with me her jean philosophy. Harmony told me that she views jeans as an investment. That you get what you pay for. A high-end pair of jeans will last you a long time and can be dressed up or down. Furthermore, if you average out the cost per wear you will definitely get your money out of them. I can attest to this because my first high-end pair of jeans are just now being recycled (maybe into a pair of shorts) and I bought them seven years ago!
I am now a girl who is committed to buying once and crying once, or at least when I buy my jeans. I shop for a pair of jeans like it’s my JOB. I take my time, I try on a ton of different pairs, and then I bite the bullet and pay the price.
The pair I am wearing here is my most recent purchase. I tried a new brand, Paige. Love them! They are so comfy and fit great. I could probably have them hemmed but I wear them mostly with boots, so for now I am leaving them long. Dressed up or down these are my new favorite jeans that I want to wear. I know I will be wearing these for many years.
I should mention that I have purchased most of my high-end denim at Nordstroms Rack. (I still like to get a good price.) And Nordstroms offers free alterations, which is a pretty sweet deal! And….Paige jeans are made in the USA which is becoming more important to me as I look at how my shopping and spending affects others.
So tell me….what is YOUR favorite brand of jeans???
