Just a reminder my dear readers, I am by no means a fashionista. I’m more of a functionista. However, I can dress up when the occasion calls for me to dress up. Insert – crawl out of my yoga pants. So today I am back to share another fashion (organization) tip!
This is all about a lesson I have learned the hard way. (The way I learn most of my lessons.) The lesson about the importance of having a few good jackets in your closet. Whether you live in a warm or a cool climate, having a good selection of jackets is really important. A “just right” jacket can make or break an outfit.
On Sunday I was rushing to get ready for church and I realized the cardigan I wanted to wear needed to be ironed. So, I had to come up with a quick plan B. Here is option B in all of its glory.

*KISS – Versatile jacket = completed outfit.
Instead of the cardigan I chose this summery type shirt. (I needed something with enough length.) This shirt had the length, but the temperatures were not warm enough for a short sleeve shirt all on its own. So I whipped out my denim jacket and like that the outfit was complete! So simple. (Old Navy jean jacket, H&M jeans, Target tank top and Anne Klein boots.)
Please note, I have a hard time being serious during these photos. I used to be a model. Well if you count one fashion show for a clothing store in fifth grade as modeling, then yes I was a model. But, it’s been a long time people and I’m rusty. Maybe if I was in yoga pants I would be able to be more zen like?
So whether you are wearing yoga pants, jeans or a skirt, a good jacket is necessary. Both for completing an outfit and for helping you to be comfortable despite the weather. I have a total of eight jackets. They range from dressy to casual and help me to complete my outfits on a regular basis.
Where is there a hole in your current jacket selection? Is it time for you to go jacket shopping?
