In previous posts I’ve shared with you my Grab & Go Notebook and my Household Manuals Notebook. As much as I try to go paperless I just still have an occasional need for good old paper!
Years ago I pulled together three other notebooks. I needed a place to keep papers organized that I just wasn’t ready to let go of. A place where I could create a go-to for things I wanted to be able to reference quickly and easily. Enter in my Faith, Family and Food Notebooks.
I created my Faith Notebook to hold all things related to Bible Studies, Small Groups, Church and overall spiritual growth. I have been blessed to be able to attend a variety of studies. With so many great resources I’ve received over the years, this provides a great spot to tuck them away.
Each colored tab neatly shows the category for quick reference. I used Avery brand dividers similar to these.
Then there was the need for a Family Notebook. This was birthed from the fact that I birthed three babies! All of a sudden I was tearing articles out of magazines and wanting to try the latest Martha Stewart craft. This became my spot for all things related to kids, holidays, pets, school, book lists etc. I’ve even got a few blank tabs. 🙂
Last up…is the Food Notebook. I’m not a foodie but I do make A LOT of food! This is where I place recipes that I LOVE. These are the keepers. The yes I’ll make that again. I set up the categories to include appetizers, soups/salads, chicken/turkey, beef, veggie/fish, dessert and breakfast.
The difference in this notebook is that I used sleeves to hold the papers/recipes. The sleeves help to keep the recipes clean when I’m cooking. I can also pull out a sleeve and put it on my recipe holder and it sits real pretty.
Doesn’t that just make you want to start whipping up some dinner?
Every once in a while I go through and purge things I no longer have a need for. And likewise I’ll add to a notebook when I find a new recipe or a new great reading list for 10-year-old boys. I’m also able to keep them on the smaller side because of my crazy obsession with Pinterest. If you don’t yet follow me you may want to. Especially if you like desserts. Morgan on Pinterest = “Mom why isn’t dinner ready?”
*KISS – Use notebooks to categorize and organize items you want to save as resources.
Where could you use a notebook in your home or life?
