Happy {early} Halloween!!!
This was our family themed “Alice In Wonderland,” Halloween, 2010.
Good times.
One of the activities that my kids still enjoy to this day, is playing dress up. They love to put on skits and performances by using old Halloween costumes, especially when their friends come over. I love the creative play that dress up instills, and they get their goofy on every time!
In an effort to keep our stash of Halloween costumes under control, I have limited our Halloween costume storage to only two bins.
These see through Sterilite containers work great! I store them underneath our open stairs in the basement. Since, they seriously get played with every few weeks. The kids can easily grab them and pull them right into the basement/play room.
Nothing fancy, just functional! I give that a KISS!
I don’t keep the costumes organized per se. It is more of a dump and play and then pile back in the bin when done. I do make a habit to go through them this time of year, and I purge, oh do I purge (without the kids assistance)! This helps me to know what we can use from past costumes for this year’s Halloween, and also what we need to add to make more great costumes. And, it keeps our collection fitting in the two bins!
For this Halloween, we are not doing a family themed costume. But my hubby and I do have a party to attend where there is a competition. You can bet we are getting ready! I will share a photo after the party, and fill you all in with how we placed. Wish us luck!
Do YOU still dress up for Halloween?
