Today I am back to report that I have crossed one of the projects off of my list. 🙂
The Before:
We have manuals for the variety of household appliances and electronics, that we hold on to for reference. My organizational solution had been to keep the household manuals in our File Boxes. While it was an organized system, it was a rather complicated system. The problem was that I had to go digging every time my hubby requested a manual. I had them organized in files, but it was a tedious task of pulling out boxes, looking through files, and trying to find the correct manual. This was all so that he could attempt to cross something off of his honey-to-do list. (I wonder who makes that for him?) Then it would seem the manual would lie around on the kitchen counter until I could get re-focused enough to re-dig out the boxes, and re-file the manual into the correct spot. Exhausting right? This system had nothing to do with keeping it simple, which is my number one motto.
The After:
- First I pulled all of the manuals together and purged. (Thankfully there were many that I could just recycle.)
- Then I sorted the ones we wanted to keep into the obvious piles / categories.
- Lastly, I created two new homes: a “Notebook” and a “File Drawer”.
