{Our local Portugal Farmers Market}
Grocery shopping can so feel like the never ending chore. As much as I would like to shop once a week, and preferably only at one store, I never seem to be able to. The problem for me is that not each store carries everything that I need. So inevitably I end up going to various stores for different things every.single.week. Not to mention all of the items I tend to forget week after week – even though they were on my list.
Being the planner that I am, I have found that by coordinating my menu planning along with my grocery shopping, I am usually much better able to manage my time and my last minute “have to” shops!
Weekly Menu Plan
I plan my menus weekly, Monday-Sunday and I also refer to my menus for breakfasts and lunches. By having a plan for the meals for the week, I can more easily come up with my lists for each of the stores I like to shop at. In addition, I list any household item, gift, card, etc… Things like that that we also need week to week.
Weekly Shopping Plan
Tuesday-Grocery Store (Meals/Produce/Dairy/Meats)
Wednesday-Farmers Market (Produce)
This makes it so that I only have to go to the same store once per week. I shop for specific items at each store and have narrowed down what I like best from each place.
So tell me….
How many grocery stores do you shop on a weekly basis?
Leave me a comment, I am curious what the averages are.
