This is a room where we mostly veg out in front of the tube. It is a cozy spot with lots of blankets and pillows. This room provides a spot for us to put up our feet, enjoy some popcorn, and chillax (chill + relax.) Last night it included watching Home DVDs of the kids, which was precious and priceless.
I used a sectional couch and an area rug to define the Family Room space, since our hardwoods extend into our adjacent Nook and Kitchen.
This couch has been the best purchase EVER! It seats a lot of people, it is a great cozy spot to read or watch TV and it even has a hide-a-bed if we need it. It is microfiber which equals very kid proof, yeah for me!
Ideally I would love to wall mount the TV, and have white built ins added on either side of the fireplace….but for now this works just fine.
TV console holds all the necessities and the baskets give me a spot for extras like…
Now we need to revisit this pic…and take note of the beautiful console behind the couch.
I just love consoles…I wish I had more rooms, I would buy more of these for sure!
Then, because I like me a little bit of matchin’, here is the coordinating coffee table…note the drawers, ahh…secret storage, that opens from both sides…how perfect is that?
I have begun to realize that decorating like gardening, is an art, and the nice thing is that you can just keep trying different things until you get it to where you want it. Just hang in there and never forget to claim your own style!
