It’s time to tackle and tidy the Linen Closet!
I am happy to report that I accomplished my goal.
Let’s take a look shall we?
Out of sight, out of mind…
Here are the results, that just make me so happy!
Right Side
Left Side
The purpose of our Linen Closet is to hold all of our bed linens, beach towels, misc. small appliances, extra beauty and cleaning supplies, blankets, comforters, gym bags, and a pack and play. We keep all our bath towels and regular cleaning supplies in each bathroom.
A few weeks ago I found the wire baskets at IKEA for something like $2.50 a piece! I snatched four and they work great to keep the folded linens contained and organized. I tend to be cheap frugal. The darling black and white boxes are from Michaels and were on clearance for $4/each. My favorite finds were the adorable tags at Staples. I discovered the Martha Stewart line…oh my! I need to go back when I have more time, and more money. She has an amazing organization line -(Martha Stewart Home Office – Staples.)
I’ll break it down some more…the top shelf holds – extra phone equipment and flashlights (I ran out of label tape for the upper box), fans, humidifier, and pedicure supplies.
(All things we don’t access as often.)
The black and white baskets are organized into three categories:
- Soaps and Cleaning (bath soaps and extra cleaning supplies)
- HBA (health and beauty aids)
- Outdoors (sunscreen, bug spray, and some first aid supplies)
When you run out of something, just check here, we call this closet our Target storage closet.
The four wire baskets hold Kid’s Sheets, Beach Towels, Master/Guest Sheets, and the fourth is empty…I will decide later. It is always nice to have an open spot for extra things that come along. My purging meant that I had extra room, yeah!
The remainder of the closet holds a stack of extra blankets, two comforters for guests, the pack and play and gym bags. Still out of sight, but my mind knows that everything is in its place!
*KISS – Define the purpose of your Linen Closet and set up systems to hold the like items together.
