Are ready to learn how organizing kids’ rooms is both possible and doable?
September is my month to do one of my favorite things ever – purge (yes I probably could use some more hobbies). I started my room by room purge on Monday (Labor Day), I am going to work hard, and I am hoping to have my entire home done in two weeks. How do I tackle purging? I shared all about it over here friends!
Bedroom #1
Ainsley told me before we started that she didn’t have any clothes to get rid of….well…a full garbage sack later proved wrong. We also hauled out a small bag of trash, then we finished by cleaning the windows and shutters, vacuuming, and wiping down the baseboards.
Simple Tips: Organizing Kids’ Bedrooms
- Put up hooks at their level to hang up clothing, bags, hats etc.
- Place a small garbage can in their room
- Hang up shelves, high, for those special display items
- Utilize a bulletin or photo board for their personal cards and pictures
- Use bins, baskets, or buckets to hold like item toys together, label with words and/or pictures
- Large baskets are great for holding lots of stuffed animals
- Dressers are excellent places to store toys by like categories
- Have them help you purge, IF they are willing to purge along with you
*Tip – Purge your children’s bedrooms three times a year to keep on top of the “stuff.”
